So, last night I watched an episode of 18 Kids and Counting before drifting off to sleep.
And in one of those dreams that just keeps going on, and on, and on... I was being chased incessantly by newborn babies.
Thankfully when I woke up I still had just the three young'uns.
And my husband still had just the one first name.
And I did not put on a skirt and braid my hair.
Who knew watching TLC could be so disturbing.

I've watched the show often since it began, but I would admire them much more if half those kids were adopted. Just my opinion....
I love the Duggars! I wish they would do a combo Duggars and What Not To Wear though!
Well, yeah.
I do like how respectful and well behaved the children are (or at least how it's edited). Not that I personally want 18 or anything.
I do wish I could speak softly to my children and they'd listen and immediately follow my instructions. How does she do that? I'm with Gracie Beth, bring on Clinton and Stacy for makeovers.
18 huh? eekk?? All from HER???? ouch?
Oh, I agree. I've watched the show once and it's downright scary to me. I will say that they all seem to have impeccable manners, musical training, etc. But still. 18???
I hate REALITY TV!!! Just the thought of it gives me nightmares!
Haha- I love Gracie Beth's idea!!
Last week I was having dreams about the Jackson kids and I was like fighting for them to live with their mother. So I had to cut myself off and stop watching anything MJ related on TV.
I agree. I can not imagine having 18 children.
That's exactly why I don't like watching tv before bed. LOL
Hugs!

Oh my!! all I could do was laugh!! your "response" to this show made my day. :)
It is a trainwreck I cannot look away from. I love to watch it and see how the hell they manage! Answer? Only teach the bible and let the older sibs do all the work!!!
I never watch a show in child bearing years that's called "18 and counting" right before going to bed. You poor thing, no wonder you had a nightmare.
that is hilarious!
Hey, Jill, just caught up with the Charla book post & her recommendations for looking younger.
Ha! I would be majorly busted on the flip-flops thing. I wear them most all summer with skirts and capris. They are just a summer staple here in the South, aren't they? I can hardly stand to wear heels much anymore since I wore them all the time when I was working all those years.
I think I'm OK on the other stuff, with the makeup and clothes.
I dreamed about them one time too. I've gotten where I'm more disturbed by the oldest son and his wife than by the rest of them. TRULY a different way of living.
I wish I had whatever drug she's taking, because NOBODY is that freakin calm & happy with that many children & a husband who apparantly a nympho.
Too funny and so true. I can not watch this show.
After the Jon and Kate 8 thing...I couldn't even IMAGINE the 18 so I stayed far far away from that show!
Here is a link to more babies...LOL

I've only seen this show a couple times but I think it's kind of sad that each older child is expected to be responsible for the younger ones. These kids didn't ask to be child "parents" but that's exactly the role they been assigned, like it or not. They deserve to have a normal childhood without the responsibilities of parenting their younger siblings. On the one hand, I couldn't blame them if they decided they didn't want ANY kids when they get married because they did their parenting as children! Hmmm...but something tells me they will go forth and procreate as profusely as their parents have.
