Fall Outfit of the Week

9.29.2009

So many of my readers have asked me to show photos of what I'm wearing this fall. OK, really only three of you asked. So this post is for those three, and the rest of you can say "Geesh, could these pictures be any worse?"
The only mirror that now works for these photos happens to be right under a huge florescent light. So until I find another photo spot this is the best I got.

Today was the first day of fallish weather here in the ATL, so I wore the Frances tuxedo shirt in hazel blue from JCrew, along with their City Fit Super 120 Trousers in black.

I bought the shirt in tall - praise the Lord, the sleeves are long enough! I also purchased in it white. Perfect for jeans.

I love ruffles, but generally not on me. The ruffle placket on this shirt isn't overpowering though, and it lays great. The collar is a band collar, which also helps immensely.

This was my first time wearing this shirt (haven't worn the white yet) and I am very happy with my purchase.

Accessories:
belt is from Banana Republic, but I couldn't find it online.
pearl stud earrings
Judith Ripka chain link bracelet and large citrine + silver ring
Shoes: black croc embossed heels
Happy fall y'all!

Baby, I Lie

9.26.2009

Dear precious 3yo son:

I hate to break it to you, but your Mommy's a liar.

All kids really don't go to bed while it's still light outside.

Wal-Mart doesn't close at noon.

All the candy isn't gone.

And I don't think the basement is a very cool place to play either.

Vacuuming and dusting really aren't part of hide n' seek.

The football jersey you want to wear every single day isn't always in the laundry.

Caillou hasn't suddenly disappeared from Comcast on Demand.

I do know what happened to your frightfully loud transformer.

Getting a haircut won't always involve getting a lollipop.

Shots do hurt.

And, my sweet precious boy, as much as you think I look like the cheerleader at the back of your OSU book....that's really not me.

2! 4! 6! 8!
Who do we appreciate??!!

3! 5! 7! 9!
Don't ask my mom, she be lyin'!

GO TEAM!!

Burning Issues

9.21.2009

So my mom just emailed me... I don't burn candles any more because you wouldn't believe all the soot they give off in your house.

Great.

Not only am I worried sick that all this rain is going to cause a tree to fall on our house in the middle of the night...

...now I have home pollution factors to stress about.

And my favorite black lounge pants are M.I.A.

*sigh*

Cute Cross Buns

So... what are y'all doing this weekend?
Hope you have some fun on your list!

"O" is for "Out of the Mouth of My Three Year Old Boy"

9.09.2009

Now that my sweet little 3yo has been promoted to the Preschool II class (one step away from "da big kids class", the ultimate in the preschool hierarchy) they have been intensely studying the alphabet, recognizing letters by sight and sound and learning words that start with each letter.

"B" seems to be one of Adam's favorite letters, so tonight after his bath I decided to quiz him on some words that start with B.

I thought he'd turn his sweet little face up towards me and say, "B is for boy" , or "B is for ball", or maybe he'd even be able to remember "B is for backpack".

Instead, he said:

B is for beef. Which is gross when you take it out of da package and make it into dose things dad puts on the gree-uhl. Then when dey are all done dey are burgers. And dat starts wiff B too. And we put dem on buns and dat starts wiff B too. And I don't wanna talk about B anymore.

Then he told me my face is gross.

Then he asked me to body slam him.

**ahhh*

The tender moments of motherhood.

Beyond
Beautiful

(And obviously I am not referring to my face).
