As fans around the world mark the 30th anniversary of Elvis' death, I'd love to hear what your favorite Elivs song is, and why.
I'll bet there is at least one good Elvis story out there!
My favorite is Jailhouse Rock.

I love Suspicious Minds, but is there REALLY a bad Elvis song?
I like "Love Me Tender" because I remember my dad singing it when I was a kid.
I visited Graceland a few years ago--what a fascinating place!
We will be going down through TN in a couple of weeks.
Karen said she will drive by Elvis's house and let Nancy see.
Nancy has lupus real bad and takes very strong meds. We can't get her in crowds because of her immune system but we can see some of it.
Nancy is a big Elvis fan.
She still has 45 records of his and tapes! I guess it is time for us to get her some CD!!
Do you remember what you were doing when you heard the news that Elvis died? I was 11 and sitting in the front seat of my dad's pick-up truck on our way home from the farm.
I love "A Little Less Conversation" - fun to dance to with the kids.
I love the song "Hound Dog"... we used to play this song for my oldest guy when he was a baby and he would (I swear) shake his head! We loved it ! It will always be special to me!! Great post!!

I remember when they announced Elvis was dead. I was 7. They played his music for days. When I was 15 we went to Graceland. I have pics somewhere sitting in that pink jeep in his back yard. It was fun.
"I Can't Help Falling In Love With You"
I don't know why, but I adore that song!!
OK mine is "I Can't Help Falling in Love with You." I love Peace in the Valley also. I still remember the day Elvis died...it was a very sad day for many many people.

Hands down...Love Me Tender. When I was a teenager, I spent ALL of my allowance every week buying records and going to his movies. Loved him!
Hugs!

Y'all... I just loved hearing your favorites and your memories. I was 9 when Elvis passed away and I cannot recall what I was doing when I heard the news.
You know, I agree with Jody in that I don't think Elvis had any bad songs...I just can't pick a favorite. My mom LOVED Elvis...I mean LOVED him, so the good part was that my sister and I got to go to a couple of his concerts and he was FABULOUS in concert. My mom acted like a teenager and it was funny back then, but I realize now how lucky we were in getting to do that. I remember when he died. I was in high school. I was upstairs in my bedroom practicing my trumpet for marching band when my sister came and told me he'd died. I didn't believe her. I told her, "No he didn't! Close my door!" :-) Turns out he DID, and I owed her an apology. Looking back now, he was just so YOUNG...that's what makes the biggest impression on me now..how much he packed into and lived during his 42 years...and his legacy continues. He was a good lookin' thing, no doubt! :-)
This is a great post Jill. Thanks!
I loved everything he sang. A couple favorites are "I Was the One" - my daughter Donna and I sing that one. Another was "Take Me Home, Precious Lord." I loved hearing him sing gospel songs. He died too soon.
the tear bear song is my favorite
and I love ElVIS!!!
My uncle passed away a couple years ago, he was in his early 40's. He was an Elvis FREAK! Before the funeral we were sitting in the family room listening to Elvis. Now, whenever I hear Elivs...I think of him.
I LOVE Elvis and love all his songs. His gospel is wonderful. I love "I Can't Help, Falling In Love With You". Makes me boo hoo! I also love "Did Ya Ever Have One of Them Days". It's a little hard to find but so much fun!
