.... or: Day 4 of Hand/Mouth/Foot crud.
Thank you all for your nice comments and words of encouragement. I remember my mom saying several times when I was a child, "I wish I could be sick for you." Now I know what she meant.

In researching Hand/Mouth/Foot disease, I learned we should not confuse it with Mad Cow Disease, which only affects animals. I wonder if there are any reported cases of Mad Mama Disease? :o)
Adam's still very much under the weather and my hubby and I are riding out the storm together. Adam cannot go back to daycare until all of his little blisters are completely gone, which could take up to ten days. That has turned my boss on her head, as she doesn't know what to do without me. So she calls me, and asks me things that I can't help her with because I'm not at my office. And she tells me things like the mini washer in her hotel suite fell off the counter and crushed the ironing board and didn't even stop running. That made me laugh so hard it even got Adam laughing.
I tried to counter with stories of forced feedings of Tylenol and Benadryl, huge piles of laundry, and sleep in 30 minute intervals. She was not amused.
Hubby said it best: Our weekend could be summed up in one word: mama, mama, mama, mama, mama, mama, mama, mama, mama, mama, mama, mama, mama, mama, mama, mama, mama, mama, mama, mama, mama, mama, mama, mama, mama, mama, mama, mama, mama, mama, mama, mama... you get the idea.
These are the days of tested patience. I beg for patience as I carry my 22 pound son around nearly all night and all day. (Sometimes a boy just has to have his mama). I pray for patience and faith that he will get better soon and not suffer. It's hard when they can't say what hurts. I am forever grateful for my warm and caring husband. He's my mindnight and 3am hero.
And I'm so thankful for all of you - my blogging friends. It's nice to know someone else has been there, too.
Thanks to Karolee... a little bloggy goodness at the exact moment I needed it.
Fast, Mama!
We've been working on "opposites" so I said Fast and.....
Slow!
Wow! I was impressed. He always gets this one because it's in a book we read daily:
Old and.....
New!
I tested him some more and found it joyfully funny the way he answered. He was getting an "opposite" word...just not the right one:
Down and....
In!
Out and....
Near!
Far and...
Down!
Big and....
Up!
Sick or well, rested or tired... I waited my whole life for this. Thank you all for blessing my socks off (and on!)

Hope that smart little boy gets better soon! We miss his mom and he needs to share her with us :) I'm praying for you too.
Prayers sent up!
He is so cute. I hope you all get some rest very soon. :)
hope you both get some rest tonight. He sounds like he is quite a clever little boy.
God bless

He's a cutie pie. I mix my methaphors so who am I to judge. I'm sorry you all are still so sick. I pray you get better soon.
Congratulations on the award...I gave you the same one too after Karolee gave it to me. You do make me smile.
Hope you get better soon!We all had that years back and we used a mixture of mylanta and something else possibly benedryl and swished it around for the sores in our mouths - made it so much more bareable.
Take care. Praying for you!
Blessings,
Sandy :)
Hope Adam is feeling better soon - poor little guy. And, poor you!!
Melissa
I pray he gets better very soon! I've never been through this, but I've heard it's rough, so I'm praying for you and your family!
I know how much a mother wants to trade places with her child. When my 16yo DD developed UC I was a wreck and wanted so badly to take her place.
Your little boy will get better, life will speed up again, and you will almost miss these "hold the baby days".
Oh, I know what you mean about wanting to be sick for them. I still feel the same way and my kids are grown! Now I feel that way about my grandchildren too.
Congrats on your award. You definitely deserve it!
Hope Adam feels better real soon. And that you get some rest.
Hugs!
Kat
I'm praying for you both!
I had that crud twice (in high school, then in college), and I was cranky. Poor little man! I hope those blisters go away soon, and I hope all of you are able to get some rest.
Awwww....I hope he's feeling better. I love these sweet little stories. And you're going to love it that you've recorded them for him to read someday, too.
Hugs,
Susan
Hope A is feeling better! Caroline had the flu last year and honestly, I've never seen her so sick. I wanted to die! When she was throwing up, she was sleeping in the bathroom floor. She could find no relief. It is very hard for a mother to sit by and watch that. Now, I got over it in this case because as she starte to recover, I started heaving. The little booger gave it to me! LOL!
