Maybe You Should Consider Laying Off the Caffeine

7.03.2008

Yesterday afternoon I went to remind one of our employees about something that needed to be done.

"Did I hear you say they need it by the middle of next week? Does it have to be done today?" he asked.

"It doesn't have to be done right this minute, but I think it will take a couple hours so please don't put it off until the last minute," I said.

"Good. I'm not up to doing it today. I had to take four Valium and two sleeping pills to get to sleep last night and I feel pretty wrung out."

Needless to say I sent him home and banned him from the carpentry shop for the rest of week.

A half drugged sleepy employee is one thing.

A half drugged sleepy employee with missing fingers is quite another.

Lord have mercy.

And thank you for a long holiday weekend.

Just Mom :

When I saw the blog post title, I thought you were talking to me. I was ready to tell you what I think you could do.

;-D

You showed good judgement in sending that employee home. YIKES!

Tonja :

How could he even walk into the office? MY WORD! He must be pretty used to taking those, or he wouldn't even be awake!

Have a happy 4th!

Linda :

I have been gone a while and so enjoyed getting caught up with you. Very smart idea to send home the employee and I love the previous post about the AmEx and the policeman.
Happy 4th!
Blessings,
Linda

Um...yeah...good idea sending him home, Jill! LOL
But when I read your title, as I sipped this second cup of coffee, I thought my husband had put you up to it, since he wants me to go off of the stuff since he has! ;)

Have a great 4th of July!
